Mending the Mess
I watched Fabi move around the apartment, swiftly collecting the mess I'd left behind—crumpled notes, empty mugs, my jacket thrown over a chair. Her sighs grew louder, and her frustration was clear in every movement. "Do you ever think about the mess you leave behind?" she asked, her eyes meeting mine with tired irritation. Guilt washed over me; I hadn't realized how much my negligence was affecting her. She shook her head and turned away, tension thick in the air. Acting on impulse, I reached out and gently pulled her toward me. She hesitated, a mix of surprise and lingering annoyance flashing across her face. Without saying a word, I pressed my lips to hers, letting my actions convey what I felt. She resisted at first, her body stiff against mine. But then she began to relax, her defenses melting away as she returned the kiss with growing intensity. The world around us seemed to fade as we became lost in the moment. When we finally pulled apart, her cheeks were flushed, her breathing unsteady. "Just promise to be more mindful," she whispered softly. I nodded, holding her close. No more words were needed. We both understood that while love isn't always easy, it's moments like these that bring us closer together.
