Her namesake is not the tragic Shakespeare character, there is nothing tragic in Ophelia's contribution. Instead taking it from it's very first use in Sannazaro's poem about Arcadia. Someone leaves the hustle of the city, into the calming outside world looking for Utopia. I guess Ophelia really can relate.
