101's Endurance
101 Endurance Cell 101 is the edited live footage and stills of a trio of endurance tests designed to expand the limits of traditional BDSM scenarios while investigating the psychological and physical effects of restrictive confinement and terror. The use of resident models makes this kind of inquiry possible. 101’s black hair and haunting dark eyes, framed by the milky opalescent luster of her skin, provide a stunning contrast to the crisscross of steel bars that confine her in a small cage. She languishes for four and a half excruciating hours, her movement restricted further by the use of toe cuffs, shackles, and a metal dildo bolted to the cage. Once out of the cage, 101 sustains an extended and savage caning. Appearing decapitated (her head locked into a hole below the level of her platform), 101 is strapped in place on her knees, her hands in strappado. The caning starts on the sole of one foot and progresses with precision and severity up her leg to her tender, ivory ass, leaving a torture of harsh streaks, then working down to the sole of her other foot. Her third test is a return to eerie stillness and isolation. 101 is submerged in water and forced to breathe through a tube, thus creating an extreme sensory deprivation experience. Her inert, young body as seen through water assumes a surreal, death-like quality. Silence returns. We are left with a haunting vision of the female form, benumbed, entombed in water.
