DMCA / Content Removal
Last updated: October 2026
Scope
Scenedex is a metadata index. We do not host video files. Thumbnails shown through our proxy are fetched from the original publishers' CDNs. Removal requests handled here apply to metadata records, titles, and cached thumbnails.
Filing a notice (17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3))
Send a notice to [email protected] containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature;
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed;
- The URL(s) on scenedex.org to be removed, sufficient for us to locate the material;
- Your contact information (address, telephone, email);
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the rights owner, its agent, or the law;
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
What we do
On receipt of a complete notice we remove or disable the listed records within a reasonable time. Metadata removals are permanent across all locales.
Counter-notice
If you believe a removal was mistaken, you may submit a counter-notice with the elements required by §512(g)(3) to the same address.
Requests to the source
To remove the underlying media itself, contact the original publisher or hosting provider listed on each record.
