When Daddy’s Away…
Daddy’s away… I miss him so very much. Don’t you? I’m so sorry for being distracted – daydreaming of him – and not being a very good mommy. What would you like to do today, darling? Spend some quality time together? Shall we play a game? What’s the matter, honey? You look… not well. Are you feeling okay? Are you uncomfortable about something? Do you miss Daddy too?? You don’t have a fever… but you have a funny look on your face… your cheeks are flushed… and you’re squirming in your pants like something is… you better let Mommy take a look! Yes, right now. Honey, I don’t know what’s the matter, and you better let me make sure you’re okay. Oh…oh… MY! No, that’s not… well, that’s… it’s… no, no, honey, we don’t need to take you to the hospital, but…. Oh, I wish your father were here!!! What do I do? I don’t know how to… honey, do you? No? Well, I know what you can try… just follow Mommy’s instructions. I’ll do all I can to help you. Now, try something else. Do you want Mommy to do that thing you like? Is this working? How about this? Don’t worry, honey, Mommy will help it go away!!
